Cherry bowl

Here is a cherry bowl I made measuring 10.5 by 3 inches. It came from a very old tree and is my wife's favorite.

Wow that sapwood really makes the bowl. The contrast will just get better with age.

That is a beautiful bowl. If you think it is pretty now like was said wait till it catches some sunlight and age then it will be fantastic.

I really like the bowl and I can see why you wife has it as a favorite. I especially like the sap wood - just enough to add character but not enough to detract from the overall effect. Would like a shot of the bottom as well.

I assume black cherry?
