Dave Fritz needed some corian pen blanks a while back and I sent him some and said no charge and no need for an exchange of wood pen blanks because I have enough to last me a few hundred lifetimes and pen sales have been slow compared to my other turnings. It was just a gift with no need for payment of any kind .
But in his kindness he surprised me and sent me an exchange anyway and was I ever surprised when I picked up my mail over the border today at noon . . Here is what he sent me.
5" cherry on the left and the other 2" board was warped but figured I could still make something from it.
Headed out to my shop and turned the cherry first into a 5" diameter bowl and then the 7" red elm into a shallow bowl.
Got them both done and a few coats of finish on before supper.
Here is how they turned out .
