I have posted a pic of this dish before but this morning, the sun was shining in across the counter and this just jumped out at me and was begging for a pic. The chatoyance is glowing right now!

I turned this dish in a Captain Eddie workshop almost a year ago. It is curly maple, 10" diameter and has a built up Tung oil finish and was then buffed.

BTW, Great News! I saw where Captain Eddie was home!

Very nice bowl and highly attractive !! Congrats ! Isn't "chatoyance" a wonderful word ! I learned it only after I started turning.

That bowl looks as good on the bottom as it does on top. That's a sign of good workmanship and skill.
I didn't know the big guy did workshops. I'm glad to hear he's back home and continuing to improve.

Likewise on the chatoyance!

Me to on chatoyance I really like the bark inclusions on the bottom I think thoes add something to a bowl and I personally try to leave them in. You did a great job.
