Cat's Blanks

I have cut lenght wise a cat blank from Exotic. The lenght is 4 1/2 "

I want to make two sierra pens with it. The brass tubes are 2 1/4"

Now my question. Will there be enough of the blank after the bandsaw cut and the trimming the ends for the [2] sierra pen kits.?

Is there any tolerance in the kit for the tube and kit to work properly if it cut short by a sixteen of an inch?.

On the sierra , the length is not critical.

This is NOT true of the elegant beauty, which is not a sierra, nor the click which is a special sierra. On these two, the length may be critical.

The click isn't that critical either, provided you are using the adapter.

You might want to consider the "cut down to Parker" click with a tube length of 1.882 inches for one of the Sierras --

Tolerance on the twist Sierra is about 1/4 inch
