Catalyst ??

I had a small accident[:0] in the shop and lost most of my Catalyst from my last order of resin from MRfiberglass I have about 2 1/2 gal left to pour and not enough catalyst. does anybody know if the catalyst that Michaels craft store sells for there casting resin will work with the Mrfiberglass resin?

Yea it will work. It is still MEKP. I actually have a ton of extra. Send me a PM and I will get it right out to you.

I would think so, yes. The catalyst for polyester resin is MEKP, methyl ethyl keytone peroxide which is an organic compound and not the MEK solvent found in paint stores. Check with a local boat dealer and see if anyone in your area sells fiberglass products for rerpairing boats and you may be able to purchase some MEKP. Mrfiberglass will probablly sell you some.
