Casein

I just tubed some casein I bought a while back and was wondering if anyone had any turning tips for it. CA finish or will it polish up without one? Do I need to keep it from getting hot? Thanks in advance

No CA needed, it will polish up nicely. I usually spray mine while drilling on the lathe.

Definitely keep your drilling cool! I use Casein on PSI's Over and Under pen kits - it looks just like the ribs on a shotgun shell. Also, no CA finish needed.

casein will polish up nicely but if you are making a fountain or roller ball I would consider ca finish.. My experience is that casein will stain easily so a few coats of ca and finish as you normally would will protect it.
