I have a pen making set from the same seller. The two have shorter handles, one with the same round carbide cutter as shown and one with a square cutter. they both work well and I have used them quite a bit without them showing any sign of dulling. I'd buy them again.
I purchased the 5/8" square version and I really like it. If a side gets dull from turing tru-stone, then I rotate it to the next side. I have a diamond sharpening stone that sharpens the carbide tip when I need to. I bought it specifically for turning tru-stone and find that I use it on many blanks just to get them to round. These things are built like a crowbar so you will have no worries about the tool handle ever bending or breaking.
Several people sell square head carbide tools. I make my own for about $5.00 each compared to around $100.00 charged by some vendors. I'll be making round head soon.
I have one. Works great especially roughing out/down harder materials. Sharpening is quick and easy. The shaft was too large for my tool rest, it sat too high. A slight modification made it usable.
