I purchased the Mini Carbide turning tool set from Rockler for doing smaller turnings.

I didn't care for the perfectly square insert so I purchased an Easywood Ci2-R2 insert (Rockler does not have an insert with a slight radius) and slightly modified the tool to accommodate the radius of the new insert. This worked out real well.

My question is will the Detail insert from Easywood Tools fit the Rockler tool? They appear to be nearly the same but can't find any dimensions anywhere.
If anyone has the Easywood detailer insert (Ci4), what are the dimensions of the insert. Tip to tip and width at the angle where the screw hole is located, so I can compare the two, rather than purchasing one and finding that it does not fit.

Any help would be appreciated.

You could always make a new insert holder out of a piece of square bar stock. I got some from the big hardware store. Cut it to length, grind out what you ned to fit the insert, drill, tap, and turn your own handle. It's not that hard to do and saves a ton of money. Plus you won't have to keep swapping plug the insert from radiused to detail.

I guess I didn't explain this clearly enough. The set I bought is a 3 piece set with a round tool, square tool and detail tool.
I modified the square tool to accept the slight radius of the Ci2-R2 insert. I can still use the existing square insert with this tool.

Just want to find out if the detail carbide insert from Easywood Tools will fit the detail tool I already have, without having to do any or very little modification.
