Does anyone here make their own or sharpen/shape carbide cutters? I ask because I came across some carbide blanks that I would like to have made into cutters and, if possible, attached to to a pen mill.
If anyone can help, please PM me.

I can sharpen them. I do not make tools out of them as of yet, on the someday list. Adding them to a pen mill can be a bit tricky, you need to watch the cutting geometry after they are put on. There is some one in the group that does/has done the mills. What type of blanks are they?

I had already contacted Nolan, it's something he wasn't interested in doing.
A little more explanation. I have 2 pieces 3/4 X 3/4 X 3/16 with SQT; 243P3; T-04 stamped on them, another the same size with SPC; 633; HA, one with SNG; 633; T04 and one I can't read. I would like to get these sharpened and a hole drilled in the center so I can screw them to a tool to use as a scraper.
I also have 4, 1/2 X 1/2 X 1/8 with similar markings that I was hoping could be shaped and "welded" to a barrel trimmer and sharpened.
Is this cost efficient to do or should I just buy them already sharpened?

Now now I just said it would be more cost effective to buy mine . Being serious though Monty if Paul or somebody here doesn't have the equipment to do it and you really want to pursue it I will talk to my guy and ask. I just don't think money wise it will pan out as I stated before. So total you have 5 pieces you want the hole in and the 4 to put on a pen mill????
