just wanted to let folks know... my delta run/start cap went out on me the other day, i found a replacement at grainger for 13$. took about an hour or so to rewire and add the new cap and i was back to making sawdust. the replacement from the manufacturer was 40 plus shipping btw.

hope this helps someone else not to panic like i did. i thought i would be without my toy or a couple weeks waiting on parts.

Can you tell me what part number it was and what the tool was it came from? I was recently given a Delta dust collector that will run if you "bump start" it, but just hums otherwise. I'm suspecting a bad starter cap.

im not sure the part number for the capacitor for the lathe. i just told them that i needed a 30mf 300v cap. if you can find the cap (it's probably mounting in a doghouse on the side of the motor) it should have the rating it needs to be. one thing to think about is as long as the mf is close to the same rating it will be fine, don't get one with a lower voltage rating as it will fail soon but a higher voltage rating is ok. hope this helps.
