Can you turn coral?

A friend of mine has some coral and is wondering if it can be turned into a pen. Has anyone tried this? Any ideas?

I don't have any 1st hand experience, but some of the really great pen makers on this site have quoted Eagle on this subject. he supposedly said, "You can turn a fart if you use enough CA".

Not with regular steel tooling. I've tried.

I have a friend that has a bead store and he drills coral beads, it breaks apart real easily.It might be wise to cast it.

Here in Florida if ya get caught with correl you get in big do do. It's against the law to fetch it from the reefs.
