All you California members but get and vote Tuesday. I have to get my sorry arse up at 4am and get to the poling place to help set up and then work as an election official until 9 or 10 tomorrow night. Some how LOML talked me into working with her at the poles on Primary day. Went to train and wow this is serious stuff the procedures and safe guards are something else, I was impressed. Spent and few hours online and at hands on training still don't get it all. At the end of class I asked the County election official if we could fill out the ballots that weren't use, I think I almost got thrown out, but enough people laughed that she realized, I was just kidding (?) I talked to her afterward and apologized. I bet there will be someone there watching me tomorrow. I am the Ballot Demonstration Officer, what ever that is. I do know there are about 5 different colored ballots we are using and depending on the voter registration will depend on what ballot I give them, I also have to help them understand how to fill them out. This time it crazy in some of the State they lumped all the candidates from all the parties together with the top two going to a run off in November. The was one office that has at least 35 people of different parties running. This means that a Green Party and a Libertarian could be in a run off for Congress or Senator, highly unlikely but could happen, now that would be a kick. I will go to bed early an get up and do my civic duty seriously in the morning.

Home for 30min dinner break. About 60 people so far a number of hand deliver Mail in ballots. The Ballot is real confusing to some people thus we have had a number of redo's. Might be home by midnight. Very interesting we have 8 different ballots of 2 card each, have to have matching number on the tow parts so it keeps me on my toes. Time to feed the dogs and head back

I was a Deputy Election Inspector with sixteen precincts to be held accountable for. We introduce the electronic voting machine to San Luis Obispo County. What a hoot. Love to do it again but San Bernardino County has not responded to my offer to help.
Sorry, I am feeling sorry for myself today and wanted to TOOT my horn.
Let's vote. I don't give a hoot who you vote for, get OUT and DO IT.

Got home at 10:15 PM. Had 420 ballots to use. used 93 and 32 people brought in mail in ballots. Have not Idea how many actually mailed theirs in.

It was a very interesting experience The are plenty of safe guards to prevent fraud. The fraud would occur at registration. I still thing they should require everybody to show picture Id when they show up to vote. The ballots we had were confusing to many as there were many languages on the ballot and it messed the layout up. that and the open primary in some race caused confusing as some people voter for more than one candidate and in the federal senate race. It had all the candidates for all the party on the ballot 23 in all spread over 3 columns so we had to reissue ballots so the voter could fix it, probably 40 ballots were redoes. He** LOML and I had a difficult time do ours and we speak and read good English where many in our area and immigrants and have difficulty reading and speaking English in fact we had some bring a older child in to help them with the ballot. So now I am home with a nice Crown reserve and watching the results. Had a good time with the people I was with but we couldn't give away the Green Party Ballots so Roseanne Bar could get the nomination for President. We even offered to stay later and fill out all the non used ballots to make our Precinct look good for our inspector all he said you guys have been here to long go home.
