My stickfast CA was not giving me the best results; I suspect it was because it was over a year old. I was at Hobbylobby and found this CA, I wanted to finish a couple of pens quickly so I thought I would give it a try. The CA was easy to apply and I got fantastic results, maybe better than anything I've ever used. I apply 15 thin coats, wet sand with 600 and then micromesh. It's $4.99 for a .70 oz bottle. I've done 6 pens and still have half a bottle. Just wanted to throw it out there if you need CA quickly or if looking for an alternate CA.

Interesting. I get three small tubes at $ Tree. It's my understanding that CA is CA. Thin, medium, thick are the same except for something added to change the viscosity. I got CA gel on sale at Staple's; I use it for applying fletching to arrows for a school. Wife and I go to HL about once a week just to browse. She looks at fabric remnants for the granddaughters. I just look.
 
The glue at Hobby Lobby is honestly some of the best I've used. Never had a problem with hazing, always polished up nice and cured quickly.

It just gets expensive vs buying bigger bottles online.

Definitely not true. Thus all the different problems.

When I started, I could have said the same, although perhaps much more bluntly than how you put it. I switched to the Satellite City brand and it was like night and day from Stickfast.

I remember find this article pretty interesting, though it may be a bit dated now:

The message fromthe above is that CA brands that use Acetone in their accelerator are bad, and brands that use Naptha and Heptane are good. Since Stickfast was on the bad list and Satellite City was on the good list, it kinda resonated with my personal experience.

In retrospect, I think the Stickfast I was using was thinner than the Sat City and set much faster, which might also be the reason for why I noticed a huge improvement. Somewhere I recall there being a chart which showed the viscosity of the various brands, but don't have that link handy. One issue I had with the Stickfast was that it would "fog over" or get these white patches weeks later... never had that happen with the Sat City.
