Several of us use CA as a finish on our pens. I don't consider it a polish but a durable glossy finish. A finish like lacquer, varnish, or shellac but better/different than these. There are several techniques on how various IAP mambers apply CA as a pen finish. Articles and instructions are available in the library. Mylands and any other friction polishes are no comparison to CA...my opinion and others may disagree. Friction polishes are basically shellac in alcohol and the heat from the friction evaporates the alcohol. Friction polishes are basically Frrench polishes and we let the lathe do the work of polishing instead of elbow grease. Shellac will not last and moisture and oils from handling the pen will darken the finish, but many penmakers like that look. Good luck with your investigation.
