CA finish on kingwood?

Hello,
Anyone have some tips on putting a CA finish on kingwood? I was trying and it seemed to not absorb...any thoughts?

Try wiping the surface with acetone to remove the surface oils. That should help the first coat of CA to be absorbed. After that you shouldn't have any problem.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I tried wiping it with Denatured Alcohol multiple times. Do you think Acetone would work better/differently?

The denatured alcohol often contains water, which will raise the grain on your
freshly sanded wood..

Others have good luck wiping the blank with CA accelerator. But make sure you
let it dry before putting on your CA. You don't want your hand stuck to the blank..
