Had someone bring me a few sticks of some really nice curly koa that he had brought back from when he was stationed in Hawaii...all the scraps he had left from a piece he had entered in a woodturners contest there, and placed...no pressure...simple little comfort kit..no pressure...all the scraps he has left...simple little comfort kit..no pressure....darn I'll be happy when he accepts it..:)

Very fine set you made there John, No pressure. [:p] I hope you were able to pocket a few sticks for yourself. That is some fine Koa.

Glad to see you post a pen, I thought you had retired [:D]

I love/hate koa. When I can finish a blank it is love. When I tear the top out it is hate. I have learned that maybe Fred's grit gouges are a good tool. I actually use my Sorby fingernail gouge on the koa with good success.
