hi guys
i am normally found on the australian forum but have decide to throw out a question to you on the other side of the pond
i have been doing a few imatation bullet pens and have just started playing around with some real bullets and cartridges ,

except for some of the realy large calibres that use a cigar mechanism ( female thread )

the question is .....

i want to know does anybody sell the mechanisms for the imatation kits
( male thread ) and a tap to suit that i could tap a thread into the back of the case and be able to use a parker refill instead of a hohum cross refill :frown:
any other thoughts or hints grately welcomed

In making pens for nearly two decades now, I can't remember EVER seeing a male thread on the transmission. They all go onto a coupler which is the male thread, the tranny is female.

I would guess that is probably why you are getting no replies.

Hi i had a try at converting aclick bullet pen to twist i used a parker mechanism that i liberated fromapter for an 8mm tube casic twist kit as this was complete with a push fit adapter for the lower tube in the original kit i simple drilled out the back of the cartridge to fit (think it was 7.3mm bit hope this helps

Another mechanism I haven't seen Troy, The bullet kit I have uses one like the cigar with a coupler. I have ground down the coupler from a cigar kit, soldered it into the cartridge and used the cigar transmission. At least that way if the transmission fails it would be easy to replace. Ernie at Bear Tooth Woods used to carry the coupler and transmissions, I got 10 or so from him a couple years ago.
