Buffing

Tried to buff tonight, went to buff with the tripoli, i'd buff across, rotate and buff again, but i'm getting ridges and I tried the white diamond and it didn't do anything to it, i'm lost here and need some advice on how to do this.

Andrew, I hold the barrel against the wheel for about 10 seconds in total. I also don't rotate but rather move the barrel every which way. You may be making ridges because of buffing in the same direction - vertical as apposed to horizontal - and buffing for too long.

Also check that you have no hard deposits on the edges of your wheel.

I hold mine at about a 45 degree angle turning it all the way around. Then switch end for end and do it again.

If you're getting ridges you're applying too much pressure. Lighten up and see what happens. I buff only one direction, with the length of the barrel.
