I have a hard time using the buffer by hand. So i was thinking since i have buffs for my dremel, could i turn the dremel on a low speed and run it across the pen as it's spinning on the lathe?
Just my .02, but I would think it would be a challenge to get the coverage even... meaning that one pause could buff one spot more or less than the rest of the surface of the pen. On the other hand, go fer it! Just make your passes consistent and even ... show us what happens!
I do it that way. I keep the Dremel on a shelf below the lathe and use it on about 25% of the pens I turn, mostly when I'm having extra trouble getting scratches removed. I turn the lathe slow and the Dremel to about 1/3 speed. It seems to work fine for me.
