Hey guys,

Sorry if this is a "duh" question...

I am considering a buffing system to use on turnings with oil finishes. I also understand that turners use the buffing wheels on acrylic pen blanks. Here's the question...is there any benefit to using buffing wheels on wooden blanks finished with CA/BLO? I would think not but I'm not sure.

That all depends on the gloss you want. The CA/BLO finish may not be as glossy as you would like. Wait a day and polish it with White Diamond if you want more gloss

If you're looking to save a little money. I use Micro Mesh on CA finish to bring to high gloss. Takes longer, but I've gotten some really nice comments from "customers". Do be careful not to sand through the finish...

Thanks for the feedback guys! I think I'll give a shot...need the buffing wheels for oil finshed bowls in the future anyway.

Have a good week.
