Someone sent me a blank labelled 'Buckthorn' .....I like the colour...a bit like Yew.
Segmented window and on a Norwester kit from Beaufort Ink.

First time I turned Buckthorn. I don't think that it is the UK plant known as sea buckthorn...I think that it must be American Buckthorn...a different plant altogether.

Alan, I believe the Buckthorn came from a box I sent you. It was gifted to me from an IAP member in Minnesota, when I was displaying the IAP Collection at a St Cloud Woodturner meeting and I gave a segmenting demo.

And thanks again, Mark. It's the only piece of American Buckthorn that I have seen, either as a blank, a bowl, a pen or whatever.
I really like it, super colour. ( color !!! )
