... with a brief layover at plastic.

I turned the pen itself yesterday, but was having trouble cutting the bronze material for the cap, so I turned a quick-and-dirty cap from a chunk of green plastic of unknown species, which left the pen looking somewhat like a lollipop.

This morning I sharpened a couple of tool bits and had at the bronze again, with much better results.

All the threads were single-pointed; the notches on the end plug were cut with a square jeweler's file and located by eye, as my lathe does not yet have an indexing feature. "Finish" is just an all-over rub with Scotchbrite.

Please excuse the cheap, dirty Chinese Parker-type refill; it's what I use for checking fit. :)
