I get all kinds of crazy requests to make things and usually I do it. A couple asked me to make a stand for their preferred box wine, yes box wine. The couple are not poor they just like it. He asked for the wood I use for cutting boards we call Multiwood. It is made from strips of walnut, maple, cherry, poplar, purpleheart and bloodwood. I said yes. The box wine sits in the top and their very elegant round wine glasses sit on the tongue. That way they don't have to hold the box and perhaps spill.

I'll agree with Tom, your work is always a pleasure to see. An interesting request for sure, but they got a beautiful stand.

I would have preferred a solid wood as it was difficult for me to take what I ended up with in the back. Five sides out of six is 83% so I gave myself a B.

It is a gift even though they asked how much. I'll share some of her photos in casual conversation section; she is an amazing photographer.

Here it is in action with the very rare Kirkland Cabernet Sauvignon aboard.
