Nice, I'm working on a Box Elder bowl at the moment, and am having my usual problems with Box Elder, cracking, moving a lot etc. I love the look of it, but hate turning it.

This stuff is VERY dry---it doesn't move but you really have to be careful of tear out.
I spent a hour sanding this on the lathe and went all the way to 400.
I used one of Kens new round cutters yesterday on the inside walls to see how it would perfrom.
Next test will be something real hard. So far I am happy with his tools.

Nice Gary. We took down a box elder here a couple years ago. I don't think there was that much colour in the whole tree. Nice to get a piece of wood like that.

That's some pretty wood, Nice vase Gary Box Elder can be kind of tricky to keep the red on, but even when it turns brown which unless it sits in a window will take a while it still looks nice,

I take it the inserts worked.

Ken any one who would set a wood vase in a window needs to be horse wipped anyway-----Dang my keyboard didn't really say that ----Did it???????
