Bowling Ball Pen Blanks & More

These are the last of the bowling ball blanks I have along with some large chunks that will make several blanks in most. The colors are shown and you can look at some of the pens I have done with them via a search on IAP searching my user name Seer and threads started with bowling as the search term. These blanks are probably unlike any you may have turned except for maybe the metal blanks, they can be hard on tool edges so a sharp, light cut is necessary. I use mainly carbide cutter tools as they seem to work the best but I have turned some using HSS tools but sharpened quite often. They will finish nicely and when you hold them they retain the grip they use on the lanes which you can feel the difference between them and an acrylic. These are from balls made by Lanemaster and are solid acrylic except for the core which I have removed on the blanks but a couple of the larger pieces have some left which can be cut out.
