I am looking for a bowl coring system. Can anyone tell me what they think is the best and where to find it? So far it looks like the Omeway may be a very good system. Anyone know where to get one?

Thanks....Archie

I decide on the Oneway simply because it has a much easier learning curve, and you can use the tail stock (for safety). I have a 16" swing and can make four bowls from wet wood (10% wall rule) with only the two smallest blades. I haven't purchased the #3 blade. The #4 would be too big for me.

It is more expensive and a bit more limited than other options though.

You can order the ONEWAY direct from the manufacturer.

They have a bunch of videos on the website showing how to set it up and use.

I ordered the sharpening jig and a spare cutter after finding out that I dont have a very steady hand for sharpening small things and the cutter gets a bit warm while sharpening.

I have the Bowlsaver from www.Woodcut-tools.com. For the price of the unit with the two blades I couldn't be happier.

Most folks run into problems using these bowl saving tools by trying to "save" too many bowl blanks from their original stock. Doing so - and being greedy in the process - will do nothing but cause problems for the user. Used properly one does indeed save quite a bit of wood bowl blanks. Sure beats turning it all into shavings and such.

Watch all the videos you can find prior to making a purchase.
