Or maybe I should say ... Why not Stainless Steel?
Everyone says that chrome is subject to chipping and flaking.
I haven't been making them long enough to see any myself BUT ... if I'm going to sell them I stick with SS or the silicone ones! just my $.02

Chrome is affected by the acid in wine and vinegar. Ruth Niles makes them out of surgical stainless steel and it isn't affected by acid.
