This is a book matched pen and pencil set. I don't know what the wood is. I bought it about 10 years ago from a member of the site.

Beautiful piece of wood very well dressed in that Cigar kit, congrats...!

I'm not sure if that one comes from my stables, I recall to have cut some Sugar Gum that produced identical "markings", there was a single log near the ground that had those effects, they looked similar from what I recall but, I may be wrong and come from someone else, either way, a great showpiece of nature work.

PS: I don't have anything close to it at this point.:frown:

That's awesome!! I did book matched spalted maple for my sons (for Christmas this year, the wood has never left our property yet)--but after turning them down even I can't see the book matching. You've pulled that off!!
