In theory, a 7.1mm or inch equivalent all the way through for a cartridge/converter, 7.3 or 7.4 for the 7.9mm tap, 8mm for housing clearance and an 8.8mm to sink the lip of the housing. I'm not sure exactly which drills will work best in terms of clearance since I bore all of mine.

Assuming you have the same tap as me - M7.9x0.6-D20 (not D4) these are the drill bits I use:

- Letter bit S (or 11/32") to depth 1mm from nib end of housing, then
- Letter bit P further 17mm (total 18mm from nib end of housing), then
- Letter bit M further 4.5mm (total 22.5mm from nib end of housing)

The M7.9x0.6-D20 taps the letter M portion of the bore. It might also create a very shallow thread in the letter P portion.

According to me the drillsize is simple 7.9mm-0.6mm is 7.3 mm For the other sizes take a caliper put it on metric, buy a metric set drills
And you have all the sizes with steps of 0.1 mm.
