Have high blood pressure and take medication and all that. I have had an Omron cuff style blood Pressure monitor for many years. Today I noticed it acting up and I believe it has failed so I am in the market for a new one. Now I went on line and read all the reviews of the best out there but not sure I can trust this. So let me ask here, for those that monitor your blood pressure at home what machine do you use? I want a arm cuff style because that is what I am use to. Is it reliable and what brand and number is it. $$ is not a question. This is something I need. Everytime I go to doctors my pressure is always high and I get a lecture. I probably have white coat syndrome. I at one time brought my machine to match against his. They do not use hand method any more. Both were pretty close so was satisfied. But looking for new one. Thanks.

I use the Life Source Blood Pressure Monitor UA-651W-AC. It has been real accurate. I take it with me everytime I see the VA Doctor to compare the readings.

Over the last 40 years I have went through several, both upper arm and cuff wraps, the upper arm are always better for me.

I couldn't get the one I wanted. The gold standard is mercury but alas, it's banned. Even hospitals can't get them. I use OMRON. It was about 50 dollars and I think it's about the best automatic. It also can upload readings to an app by Bluetooth, giving you a printable record.

My wife and I both have Omron. If we doubt a reading we just use each others to verify. I too tend to react differently at doctor's appointments. I think in the long run taking it regularly is the key. You can be aware of any trends or changes. My doctor zero's in mostly on my pulse since I have AFib and it can get pretty low. The blood pressure cuff is useful for that. I also have an extra beat so the machine sometimes reads that as AFib but if the pulse is in the 60's or 70's I know I'm fine. When it's in the 40's I know I'm in AFib.

I have a Healthsmart 04-655-01. I've been using it for about 3 yrs now with no issues. It came with an arm and wrist cuff. It talks to you. Lol It also has a memory bank that keeps track of your former tests.

Your other one lasted years, if you were happy with it before it failed get another one.
I tried but they do not make it any more. They have a replacement for it but it is getting mixed reviews as all of the ones I looked at. Most are made in China as this one was. I can pick used ones up on ebay but that is not the thing to buy on fleabay.

Omron BP769CAN made in Vietnam + or - 5 yrs old. Also suffer "white coat" syndrome at the doctors office. Very different readings at home, lower by far. Interesting to note that since going on a CPAP machine for serious sleep apnea in March, blood pressure has dropped back to what was seeing years ago, <120/70. Considering 75+ figure that is good news.

Unfortunately most everything these days is made in China. American manufacturers are few and far between.

I have 9 Omron with the easy cuff throughout our large work facility.,about 460+ shifter operators and several hundred maintenance employees. They have been out there for years, I have just one just quit working several, years back. The guys are very receptive to monitoring themselves routinely. Omron all the way. Just saying........

I'm another Omron user... take BP morning and night just before bed... tends to run close to normal mornings and a little higher at night... don't understand that as most of the time I've spent a couple hours sitting in easy chair before bedtime.

I like the Omron but not sure about the armband... it's not the type I used before that just wrapped around my arm, this one is a plastic or metal band that opens to accommodate the bicep and then has a velco strap that fastens to the arm band. otherwise I like the meter.

I also take blood pressure medicine and a blood thinner for Afib... Just started the blood thinner in May, but have taken blood pressure meds for number of years.

Mine can do three tests in a couple of minutes and averages it out. When I took it to my exam he told me to use it in the single mode only as the cuff compressing my arm effects the next two readings and so the average. Machine was accurate it is an Omcron.
