Jim,
Try these articles. They go a great job explaining how to do a CA and BLO/CA finish:

There are also a TON of threads in the finishing forum about it. Everybody has their own adaptations that work for them. For example, I wipe the wood with DNA, then do a light coat of BLO. While the lathe is still spinning, I hold the same paper towel with the BLO under and in front of the blank, drip a few drops of CA onto the blank, then start rubbing it back and forth to get even coverage. I wait until the CA on the paper towel is hard, then I switch to another section of the paper towel and move to the other tube/barrel, then repeat. Once the first coat is done, I repeat this process for at least two more coats, then I may (depending on the wood and the finish I want) do one or two more coats of just plain CA.

Good luck!

Hi Jim...I just started using the blo/ca a few weeks ago. I found
myself occassionally getting a foggy finish. Started using the ca by itself and have eliminated the fog. To me it is alittle more time consuming but the finish is clearer. A "How To" is on the Home Page.[:)] if you want to give it a try.
