Geez Russ's tutorial made it easier, I had read somewhere that I was to rub the BLO on the fine sanded wood, let it sit for 24 hours or a couple of days if using lacquer for a sealer then start putting on the CA, sealing with CA then sanding it smooth makes more sense, and spreading the CA with BLO really makes a nice finish, you guys are the greatest, since my job is being phased out the end of December, I'll be making pens nearky full time, I hope it stays FUN.

Three or 4 coats of CA and boiled linseed oil....micromesh, buff and the finish is done... Time: 10 minutes or less. Of course, there are several ways to accomplish a CA finish and I'm sure waiting several hours or days would work also.[
] Read the various tutorials and then tweak them all into your own technique...and Russ's video is an excellent starting place.

ok this post and a couple others have rasied a question.
Do you put the BLO on first or the CA glue.
In Russ Fairfield's tutorial he put the CA glue on firts. In a couple other post people have written that they put the BLO on first. At least thats how I read some post.
I have done Russ's finish about 10 times and am happy with it now I'm wondering if I did it wrong. And since I only have about a dozen "Complete" wood pens and one Antler pen under my belt I still on the big side of the learning curve

Both ways are in use. I use the BLO fist since I believe it pops the grain better and it helps clear out any bushing dust from the sanding operation. I don't wait for the BLO to dry, except on the final coat.
