I have stum
bled into a pretty good deal. a fella called me yesterday and said he had some pen parts and blanks for sale if I was interested. said it was about $1400 worth of those. So I figured I would see what else he had. and what he wanted for it. Well I now own a Jet lathe 1014 VSI, Jet sander jsg 96, 14 inch delta bandsaw and 14 inch drill press and a delta Variable speed grinder with wolverine sharpening system. SO yesterday after lunch I drove 600 miles for a deal that should never be passed up by a motivated seller.

That sander is a real nice one. Heck just in machines and stands you probably have more than $1400 retail.

The sander alone is worth $850 [here] add the lathe and stand at $700 [here] and you've already hit $1550!

That was certainly worth the 600 mile drive! I hope SWMBO wasn't home when you were off loading everything!

she was standing there with hands on her hips shaking her head:eek: at 11 pm last night when I pulled up in the yard. I actually only wanted the bandsaw, lathe and pen parts but couldnt turn down the rest.:rolleyes:

Phil, as if your pen turning skills weren't enough to be envious about, now you have to go and add all these great toys to your collection too!:cool:
 
It has been an eventful day. I have been trying to figure out where to put all of it. Now I gotta clean my shop my wife says. On the up side the fella called and said he found another box of pen parts and deer antler and would mail me those if I wanted them.:eek: I said I would take em off his hands.

Thats great, you will love the sander and band saw, at first i thought it was the bigger one like mine, but you seen how i had two lathes, I keep one on slow speed and always drillling something while turning with my Delta, Remember, you come across any pen kits you dont need, i still got the Majestic, con grats man,I may have extra belts her for the sander if needed,I moved that sander to dads he got more room, but think i got some still hanging up in the shed, How Ironic is it when you was looking at my bandsaw and lathes and said you needed a bandsaw bad and bam, you got your wish, great find my friend,Rodney'and if you did not know it the new tower there putting up down here on 145 and 47 across from dollar general, is a ATT tower and within 2 weeks we should have cell service here, will be first time,in all these years we wont have to drive 20 minutes to talk,
take care and you need help drop me a line, were going shell some peas shortly, I bought a pea sheller 2 years ago and hardly takes anytime now to put them in the freezer, what took 4 of us to do now takes about 1 hour,

Congratulations,
You did good on those things and the great part is if you can integrate the extra lathe into your shop is you will have less time spent reconfiguring your lathe for differant tasks. Also the new lathe will be easyer to transport for demonstrations and shows probably.
