The Seventh Annual Birthday Bash is quickly approaching. For those of you that don't know, we celebrate the anniversary of the IAP forum going public in February of each year.

To celebrate this event, we host a Bash during the month of February. This Bash has trivia, contests, drawings, and serves as the annual fundraiser for the site to keep it running for the year.

As the Vendor Liaison for the IAP, one of my main duties is to find prizes for these events. We have many generous vendors who have sponsored some nice prizes, but with the number of contests, there are always some gaps to fill.

Now I really don't want anyone to think that they have to donate anything. We have a lot of prizes, and we'll do just fine. That being said, every year I get a few people who ask to donate prizes once the bash has started. To preserve what little is left of poor Ed Brown's sanity, I thought I'd give those people a chance to donate in advance of the event, so we can close out donations in late January.

So if you have a prize you're sitting on that you'd like to donate to an event, please let me know. We ask that it have a value of $25 or more, however, so that each contest gets a fair shake at prizes.

You can PM me with a description of your prize and the approximate value, and we'll assign it to a contest. Remember that this is an international forum, so you may be asked to ship your prize overseas, so please keep that in mind when considering whether to donate.

Remember, your only requirement is to have fun during the bash - there is no requirement to donate prizes to it, so please don't feel pressured into donating anything.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew Jordan

Thanks to those who have donated so far. If you're donating a box of blanks, you don't have to give me a value, as we have a good idea about where to put them!

Thanks tremendously to everyone who's donated. I'm still accepting Birthday Bash donations for another few weeks.

Now Andrew, that does not sound comfortable at all!!:eek::eek:

It runs the entire month of February. Contests throughout the month. Some prizes will be sent throughout the month others closer to end of the month.

James has it correct. It's a month long extravaganza with prizes galore, contests to make your head hurt, and skills competitions!

We're still in need of a few boxes of blanks to round out the prizes, though, which is why I posted this request. Just a reminder to get your prize donations in sooner rather than later, if you please!

How many blanks do you need? What level of OMG should they be?

I have several pine 2x4s I can cut up for a good cause. OH and one very ugly freebee some guy named Ed sent me!

We use a lot of boxes of blanks for the trivia contest, Mike. With 28 days of trivia, that's a lot of prizes for that contest alone, so we generally need a lot of boxes of blanks to round out the mix...

Any mix of blanks is fine, but 2x4 blanks can be sent to Ed via flu powder...just put 'em in the flames and see if they turn green...

I dont have any flu powder but i have 3lbs+ of left over gun pwder from the bottoms of all the containers of powder from reloading and shells I pulled apart. Ill throw a little of that in the fireplace and see if that can get them to ED.:eek::eek:

LOVE the Harry Potter reference!!

I thought about sending some stuff, but what's up with the $25.00 minumum price for a prize??

The $25 minimum is a guideline that ensures that each contest gets a fair shake at prizes. We don't want anyone to feel short-changed if they win, and keeping the prizes above the $25 mark just keeps everything on the same playing field; we IAP'ers are pretty good about helping each other out, but I wanted to put a stipulation in there to help ensure no one feels like they received a lesser prize - and a $25 prize is a nice one to get, I think!

A $25 box of blanks doesn't really take that many blanks to fill, so I don't think it's a tough guideline to implement. PM me if you have any concerns, and we'll talk it through!

This is just the final notice - if you were planning on helping out the bash by donating a prize, please have it in to me by the end of the weekend, so the bash organizers can start dividing the prizes up into contests.

Thank you profusely to every one who has donated. I have responded to each person individually, so if you haven't received a PM or email from me, I didn't get yours.

Thank you once again for all of your generous prizes - it's very much appreciated; you're what make the IAP, and the Birthday Bash, a success.
