Birdseye Walnut Veneer Pen

Second attempt. This is from a sheet of birdseye walnut (I think) veneer, not inlay.

CA glued the veneer on the tube. Lightly sanded with 400 grit. Eight coats of MINWAX Clear Gloss Polyurethane. . Polished with HUT.

Wow, sure can't tell it's veneer by looking at the pen. Cool idea and I bet much less expensive than using a blank.

It looks great. I agree with Eric... It's likely maple, but it's nice looking no matter what.
