Big Beech Burl

Fresh off the lathe----truely a monster of a burl---this is a whole Beech burl-----the only finish at this point is a couple coats of Danish oil.
Hope you enjoy.
Now I need to get those 6 tables built

Excellent bowl. Way out of my size range at this point. Did you core it, or just turn the interior away?

This type of burl could not be cored---it would fall apart.
I have the wall tickness down to less than 3/8---the base is just over a 1/2 inch thick----she is in the house resting right now. There was some movement last night but nothing that's going to hurt---we just call that "personality"
Oh she is 18 1/2 wide and about 6 deep.

What do mean miserable----the camera ain't working with much.
I should of cropped the pic and just showed the bowl off ----it was early and I was still working on my second cup of coffee. How's that for a excuse??????????

Great bowl, I bought a new Easyrougher tool while in Provo last week that I bet would have worked great on that.
