This one started out life as a double closed end, would have been my first but the cap end exploded during assembly. and as all my explosions go, it went into "the drawer" well once again tonight i really needed my de-stress time so i pulled it out and this is what i came up with. i've liked the desk pens i've seen and have been wanting to try one and as the original cap end broke my threads and band were already pressed in and i couldn't budge them, so i cut this base glued in my cap tube/thread/band section and turned it between centers.

they are maple with a mahogany swirl and i finished it with wax.

now if i only had a desk....

It looks rather sharp. I like those photos of pens like this as well and have had them on my to-do list for a while. My problem is I don't have a bunch of parts from messed up pens to work with and I've had a hard time convincing myself to use a kit and then NOT use all the parts.
You did a great job on this one though, I like the way it came out.

Good one Marc! Do any pens ever turn out perfect for anyone? They seem to range from recoverable blowup to small flaw only you know about:rolleyes: Very nice recovery.
