I purchased two of the new Police Pen Kits from Berea Hardwoods along with two of their "Thin Blue Line" blanks. They turned out pretty good and my customers who are cops gave them good reviews. They showed well in a plain maple box.

Pros: Good solid feel, they are heavier then they look.
The blanks turned easily, I used MM to 12000 and a coat of HUT Ultra Gloss to finish them off.

CON: The click mechanism has a lot to be desired. I compare most click pens to the Vertex mechanism and this one falls far behind. Very rough action.
The graphics of the police car and SUV could be better.
The satin nickle finish looks more like aluminum.

Altogether, I will not be stocking these, but will make them on special order, if my customers want one.

If they are the same mechanism, then I must have gotten two really bad ones! I really like the Vertex for its smooth operation. These Police Pen Kits didn't come anywhere close!

It's disappointing to hear about the click mechanism. I agree the Vertex is awesome, unlike the Sierra Click which is at best mushy and unreliable.
