In my winter Florida shop, I have an old mini-lathe that I got from TWC at a WW show years ago. The lathe is driven by two small belts, the second of which has finally broken. I have replacement belts, but I can't figure out how to replace them. The head drive spindle appears to be held in place by a bearing/seal combination at both the outboard and inboard end of the head assembly. It would appear that one or both would have to be removed to slide the shaft out so that the new belt can be slipped over the shaft. My guess is that this same design probably is found on many brand-X mini-lathes that come from China. Has anyone replaced belts, and if so, how?
