Made a bed for my daughter last summer.Never got around to posting it because I was not active on the forum and just plain lazy.Anyway, I used brown cedar, yellow pine, and mahogany (I think). The headboard was done in a belmont style using the 3 woods all doweled together. the outer frame is cedar and pine.I inlaid a couple of runners first and then inlaid pine medallions afterwords.Learned a few things along the way, like I should have used hardwood cause it creeks something fierce when its moved.Still together though.

Nice joinery for sure. You don't see much of that anymore and you used the word "Dowel" which I haven't heard used in a long time. Seems biscuits are the way to go now. Good job and a very nice piece of furniture. Your daughter should cherish this and pass it down to her kids.
