I just got a new Samsung Galaxy Prevail yesterday. So far only one problem....I have hard enough time typing on a regular keyboard, so the small touch screen is a major PITA with my big fingers. Anyone know of a good app that gives larger keys?
Tried using a plastic stylus but no go, I assume it's heat sensitive to my finger.

Mannie, I got a Boxwave "capacitive stylus" from Amazon and love it. Use it on my android phone all the time.

thats why i got the galaxy with the slide out keyboard! my paws have no chance on the video screen!
Would rather have had that myself, but this was the only one I could find that would work with Boost Mobile. Went with Boost because they have what looks to be better coverage than the other pay as you go providers and I didn't want a contract with the extra charge for web browsing. Main reason I went this route was to get Square to take CC's and get away from the knuckle buster. Besides, Boost is only $55 a month for unlimited talk, text and web and they lower your monthly fee by $5 per month for every 6 months you pay on time, down to $35 per month.

Try turning the phone on its side. On mine the keyboard is small if I'm holding the phone upright, but switching to landscape mode (by rotating the phone 90 degrees) the keyboard gets much bigger.

You may have to go into the settings to make it work, but I'd be surprised if the phone isn't capable of doing it.

It rotates but not very much larger, at least for my fat fingers.

Mannie, get Swype. You type by sliding your finger across the keys and it is very slick. It takes a bit of practice, but you'll be able to type as quick as you think in a few days. Teh best Android app evar! (intentional spelling, in case Cav is lurking)

I agree with using swipe. I'm 55 with fat fingers too, and it's easy to use. I'm not fast by a long shot, but it's very intuitive. The only problem is when you get a word wrong & it doesn't know what you want. Usually it has 3 or 4 options for the word it thinks you want. But if it isn't one of those you have to cancel & swype the word again. And I'm making it sound worse than it really is. It is really a nice feature.
