Don't get many chances to see a performance like Hamilton put on tonight - 4 home runs in one game. He is close to a modern day Mickey Mantle!

I LOVE baseball! I really love watching hitters hit the long ball. I especially liked the baseball of the old age when players played for the love of the game, and didn't strike because one or two players made a million or two more than some players who are better.

I was in attendance when Hank Aaron hit his famous dink. I was also in St. Louis at Bush Stadium when Mark McGwire broke the record.

I don't really keep up with baseball, today, like I used to. All of the millionaires kinda take some of the fun out of it.

I HOPE, for the love of the game, that Josh Hamilton, goes TONIGHT for a blood test to prove that HE did it, NOT some needle pushing trainer.

All of the "enhancing drug" accusations and Congress getting involved in baseball, has sorta ruined this simple game that I used to love SO MUCH!

Now with that said, WAY TO GO, JOSH!!!

I DID see Bob Horner hit four home runs against Montreal at "The Launching Pad", Atlanta Stadium in the 1980s. Interesting note.....Atlanta STILL lOST the game:).

I know Carlos Delgado hit four, and I think Willie Mays hit four. But I'm pretty Mantle sure never hit four.

Because of his history Josh is tested at least once a week. Not a perfect person but he has a great love and respect for the game.

Actually Josh is tested appx. 3 times a week. And I believe it is before and after every series. He is also tested during the offseason, which may be once a week.

I was watching the game. The reason he didn't hit 5 was Andrus didn't get on base. All the others were 2 run shots with Andrus on base. You know how those ball players are all superstitious.

You can also see the respect he has for the game any time he is interviewed. Yes he has made mistakes, but who hasn't. At least he owns up to his unlike many other athletes and stars...

IT HAS BEEN DONE 16 TIMES.
LOU GERIHG
MIKE SCHMIDT
GIL HODGES
JOE ADCOCK

ONLY TWO OF THE GAMES DID THE HITTERS TEAM LOSE.

ONLY ONE GUY DID IT WITH JUST 4 APPEARANCES AT THE PLATE.

ONE GUY ALSO HAD A DOUBLE AND A SINGLE TO GO WITH THE HOMERS

INTERESTINGLY - ONLY TWO HAD OVER 500 LIFETIME HOMERS AND TWO HAD FEWER THAN 100 HOMERS LIFE TIME.

THE FIRST TIME IN HAPPENED WAS IN 1894 AND THEY WERE PLAYING WITH THE DEAD BALL. I'M BETTING THERE WAS NO FENCE.

AND THE TEAM THAT HAS PRODUCED THE MOST PLAYERS TO DO IT - THE PHILLIES HAD 3 NO OTHER TEAM HAD MORE THAN ONE.

He's an amazing hitter. I'm just glad my Cincinnati Reds got rid of that guy. Why would they need a great hitting powerhouse like that?

Unbelievable guy with an unbelievable story...so glad to see him be successful. I saw an interview with him just last week where he said he has tried every kind of drug except the kind that could make him better because his dad always told him if he could hit a ball so far and throw a guy out from the track there was no need to be stronger. Pretty good point if you ask me!

Did you guys see Josh sliding on the rain soaked tarp at Baltimore before the rained out today? Looked like a little kid (a really expensive little kid...)
