barrel trimmer problem

I have a 7mm shaft barrel trimmer but wanted to pick up another one with multiple shafts so I got the one from wood n whimsies. I used it the other day and rather than giving a nice smooth surface like it should it gave me a bumpy surface. Any idea what might cause something like that?

Sounds like you need to sharpen it.

I thought of that too but its brand new so I didn't think that would be the problem. I will sharpen it tonight and report back. thanks

Put some CA on the end of the blank, let it dry good, this has happened when the wood was a little soft.
