Hi All,
I purchased the Barracuda CSC2000 Scroll Jaw Set. (Several members here recommended it and Amazon had it on sale, made the LOML happy, the sale part) (http://www.pennstateind.com/store/csc2000c.html) There is a screw chuck in the kit. I've seen screw jaws mounted to a piece of wood. I read that the screw jaw can be used with the scroll jaws (I have no idea which set of jaws.) I'm going to begin turning small bowls, tea cups, sake cups, and the like. What would you experienced turners recommend for using this screw chuck?
Thanks,
Tony

Not sure if I can describe adequately, but I'll try. You can use the #2 or #3 jaws. The screw chuck is held in place by the chuck body itself more than the jaws. You place the screw chuck so it is in the chuck body and when the jaws of the body close they hold it. The center of the regular jaws will fit into the gap between the threads and head of the screw chuck to prevent it from coming out. You then thread what will be the inside of the bowl and turn the outside and bottom of the bowl putting a dovetail on the bottom so the regular jaws can hold it. Then turn the bowl around and core the inside to size.

Dale,
Your description was SPOT ON! Yahoo. By turning the chuck over I could see where the tabs on the jaws fit into to indent around the screw and how the jaws would grab the 4 slots on base of the screw. Your description was Right On, numbers 2 & 3 have the slots that fit into the indent. Thanks bro, you da' man. Tomorrow it's BOWL TURNING TIME, lol. My neighbor cut down a small tree, got some nice fresh green wood, about 4 inches in diameter, this should be great fun. (I've said before that every time I turn a pen I learn something, I'm going to amend that statement to Every time I read this forum I learn something.)
Thank you Dale,
Tony
