Banksia Pod in Pink

This TN Gold Cigar pen is from a test batch of Banksia Pods that were cast with Alumilite. The color is a light pink and seems to stand out nicely with the wood.

Nice work. Is the acrylic pressure cast? I've been filling the holes with Turquoise but it is really tough on the tools.

We use Alumilite for the casting and bring the pressure up to 120#, it's a little high, but it works good. Easy on the tools to.

My brother cranked a HF pot up over 200# and it didn't hurt it at all. Some of the other stuff connected to it didn't fare as well though.

****I do not in any way recommend trying this. It did cause injuries when it was done and is not what the pot was made for.*****

Very cool blank, it looks great, 120 lbs of pressure would really make me pucker up.
