I assume I use the diameter of the wheels to get new tires. How do I measure for the blade?

I looked at the instruction manual that was posted in another thread but that is a newer model and I am not sure everything is still that same as my older saw. I would like to double check by actual measurement. Yes I am that anal.

By doing the math drill will know whether need a 92 ½" or 93 ½" blade.

G0555 Grizzly saws once needed to swap out parts so bandsaw could use 93 1/2'" & 105" (w/riser block kit) blades. Now they provide a work around so either 93 ½" or 105 " blade fits by making simple adjustments on ¼" Tension knob rod. Only down side lose your tension gauge.

You might e-mail HF tech support to see if there is a work around for your bandsaw so will accept 93 1/2" blades..
 
For an existing blade measurement, take a piece of 1/8" auto striping tape ($2 for a big roll at Pep Boys, et al), start laying the tape and continuing until the blade comes back around to where you started taping. Once finished, remove the tape by hand turning the wheel in the opposite direction of the way you rolled it when applying the tape.

Place the striping tape on a table or floor and measure the length. This measurement -1/2 inch is the length blade you need.

For measuring where there is no existing blade, use twine to make a "blade template" by following as closely as possible the blades path. Remove and measure the string. Subtract 1/2 inch from the measurement. This is the length blade you need.
 
That accounts for tensioning the blade. Without a blade on the saw the tension spring will not be compressed. You need the 1/2" less to pull the spring down. My guess.

If you look at those math formulas all involve adjusting tensioning knob, moving top wheel mid way on tension gauge, taking a measurement, multiply by two add diameter of wheel to get blade length. So will require some spring tension.

Still cannot argue with string or tape method!

Of course can always call tech support toll free too.
