I got ahold of a Black & Decker 7 1/2 in benchtop bandsaw.
I mounted a piece of "L" channel as a fence on the inside (left) of the blade.
The blade is pulling the wood to the right, (see pic below) away from the fence.
As far as I can tell, everything is tight, square, and where it's supposed to be.
Anyone have any ideas?

Either blade tensiontoo light, bearings not contacting the sides of the blade properly, or from the rear, or a bad blade, with too much set on one side, possibly a blade that's been kinked.

Add to that the fact that most bandsaw wheels have crowned tires. For even a perfect blade to cut true, it has to be tracking on the right part of the wheel. Too far back cuts to your right. Too far forward - if you can keep it on the wheel - cuts to the left.

All of the above---almost all band saws have blade drift you can set your fence to compensate for this (google band saw blade drift and you will get a lot of info. Having said that I have found that a high quality (and price) blade will eliminate most blade drift. I have an old craftsman 12" and bought a "woodslicer" blade from Highland Hardware and my blade drift has all but disappered.

Good luck

Ron; Band saws don't cut straight lines well. Look for a copy of the "Band saw : workshop bench reference" by Mark Duginske. There are a few more recent books by Mark, but this is the standard. You may be able to find one in your local public library.
