What TPI would you use if you were going to cut a lot of
acrylic and corian type material? What blade are most using
for resawing smaller logs into 2" sections?
Thanks

Catherine,

The more teeth per inch, the "prettier" the cut.

I BELIEVE that the fewer teeth also collect less of the melted plastic that has to result from sawing. So, they seem to last longer and cut better.

For general cutting 10-16 teeth makes a nicer looking cut and is great for all kinds of wood. But plastic seems to "make these dull" (or just fills between the teeth with plastic crud).

Hope that helps,
Ed

would 3-6 TPI work for the sawing we do now in penmaking- wood blanks, acrylic, etc. as well? We need a new blade too and I was wondering who to ask..

Catherine...

I use the 3 TPI. Here is a good source of bandsaw blades in the Toronto area. Good prices and quality R & D BANDSAWS
