Wilton Corp. tool division has made metal working horizontal band saws and vertical saws for sevral years. They opened a woodworking division and changed over a lot of their equipment to wood. They used to sell a lot thru Northern Tool and Equipment and related type stores. It is my understanding that they were recently bought out by JET Tools, but I haven't heard if they are changing the name, converting or if Jet just wanted a slightly lower end wood line of tools.

Hope this helps. You can do a google for wilton corp, tool division and find out more I think

Check to see if it can accept a modification like a 'riser bar' to allow you to cut a much thicker piece of wood like a log just in case you ever need to cut a bigger piece.

Shannon, I'm sure you could cut wood at 340 SFPM but most saws intended to cut wood will run much faster, The 8201K listed to the left on the table lists a wood cutting speed of 3300 SFPM.

Eric: You probably need to quiz the seller a little closer. The model being sold is the 8201VS and the spec chart for that model does "NOT" show a high speed capability. They have other models that have high and low speed range; but the one in this auction seems to have only the low range for cutting metal.

I agree weith Frank that spending that kind of money on an unknown product is a little risky.

I didn't notice it before; but there is a reserve on this auction. I found this model bandsaw on several Internet sites and the list price is around $1600 and a discounted price of $1300.

I doubt you are going to buy that for just a few hundred dollars??
