Japanese stainless steel blades never need sharpening

Ok, with that line in the description I would question the handles are Bakelite.

I know the Cutco knives are Bakelite. I've got one. What a wonderful material.

Methinks that "our" bakeolite blanks are overpriced (JMO). I've recently have been finding "old" bakelite kitchen utensils (knives, forks, spoons) at thrift stores that practically sell for 'nothin'. The handles are removed from say the knives and voilla, you have a nice pen blank that already has a 'starter' hole.

Bakelite was a trademark for one brand of phenolic resin that appears to have become a generic descriptor. I suspect these are injection molded black phenolic resin and very doable for that price if you are buying the material in bulk.
